Terms and Conditions – Wood Signs

Congratulations, you are reserving a Tween | Teen Celebration during our Drop-In & DIY | Open Session studio hours. Please find below a full disclosure of our TERMS and CONDITIONS. You will be required to accept these terms and conditions upon registration. We do our very best to be fair, and our policies allow us to create DIY happiness as well as your safety and enjoyment, as well as those around you and of course, our creative team. Happy making!

ONE Project Per Person:

Due to the nature of our studio and size limitations, each person in attendance must be registered to create their own project. Unfortunately, we do not allow sharing of projects.

The Nature of Wood and Wood Signs

Wood is a natural product and with that comes interesting patterns in the grain, knots, blemishes, cracks, appearance of sap and other characteristics inherent with wood and handcrafting.  Further, wood may absorb stain and colors differently and there may be some bleeding of paint.  This is due to many factors such as age of the wood, origin, humidity levels and of course the application of materials.  We embrace these imperfections as it’s the nature of handcrafted home décor.  We have a process to minimum imperfections, much like that of a recipe and ask that you trust our {DIY} Creatologist along the journey of raw lumber to a finished piece of home décor.

Length of Workshop:

Our workshops are scheduled for two hours.  We set aside the first 90 minutes for crafting and the last 20 – 30 minutes for celebration.   

Change in Personalization:

Be sure to double check your spelling, dates and anything else that is unique to your sign.  Supplies, including a customized stencil and pre-cut lumber, are prepared three (3) days in advance.  You are welcome to make any changes prior to 72 hours at no additional cost.  Please send an email with your request to  If you need to make any changes 24 – 72 hours before the scheduled start of your workshop, a $15 stencil/administration fee will be charged and is due at the beginning of your workshop.  Unfortunately, we cannot make any changes with less than 24 hours’ notice.

Cancellation Policy:

We do not offer refunds at any time.  The package price of $380 + tax includes up to 10 makers.  If you have less than 10, you are still responsible for the package price.

We understand that life happens and sometimes unforeseen circumstances pop up. If you need to reschedule your event, you may do so ONE time with no penalty providing we have a minimum of ten (10) days in advance.  Date changes with less than ten (10) days in advance will result in a loss of your deposit.   A new deposit of $120 will be required to secure a new date.


Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time. This will give you time to find parking, your seat and get comfortable so that we can start the workshop on time.

Our workshops follow a tight, instructor-led schedule for your enjoyment and the safety of those around you.

We start promptly at the time stated at registration. Guests arriving up to 15 minutes late will join the group at whatever point the workshop has progressed to and may not have the opportunity to select a preferred scent. Guests arriving more than 15 minutes will have scent selected for them or forfeit their project and registration. As with any scheduled situation, if you are running late, it is best to notify our staff or a friend, so that we are prepared.

Image Release:

I hereby grant THE BOARD BAR, LLC permission to use my likeness in photographs, video recordings or electronic images in any of its publications, including website entries, without payment or any other consideration.
I understand and agree that these materials will become the property of THE BOARD BAR, LLC and will not be returned. I hereby irrevocably authorize the organization to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish or distribute these images for purposes of publicizing the organization’s programs or for any other lawful purpose. In addition, I waive the right to inspect or approve the finished product, including written or electronic copy, wherein my likeness appears. Additionally, I waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the use of my image. I hereby hold harmless and release and forever discharge the organization from all claims, demands, and causes of action which I, my heirs, representatives, executors, administrators, or any other persons acting on my behalf or on behalf of my estate have or may have by reason of this authorization.

Safety Waiver:

I understand the nature of THE BOARD BAR, LLC and in consideration of booking and paying for my attendance and the supplies and tools required for this project, I hereby release THE BOARD BAR, LLC and all its subsidiaries, their agents, their instructors/employees, and the property/building owner of all liability for any injuries or accidents that may occur while participating in THE BOARD BAR, LLC activities.
Woodworking tools and materials such as but not limited to hammers, mallets, awls, wire, sandpaper, razor knives, screws, power drills, power sanders and other sharp objects which may result in injury. I recognize that I will be exposed to loud noises, dust, water-based stains and latex paint.

Candle making tools and materials such as but not limited to hot soy wax, fragrance oils, sharp objects such as thermometers, glass and objects or supplies which may result in injury. I recognize that I will be exposed to loud noises, dust, soy wax, and fragrance oils.

Water marbling tools and materials such as but not limited to acrylic paint and a propriety, all natural “bath” known as size.
I recognize there may be certain inherent risks in participating in THE BOARD BAR, LLC activities. I agree to take precautions, including observing all policies, recommendations, and warnings, whether provided verbally or in writing.
